Which countries use ChatGPT the most?

As per Semrush, almost 37% of ChatGPT’s traffic is from 5 countries only. Rest of the world combined is 63%.

  1. USA (16.2%)

    16% of the AI platform’s traffic is from the United States and about 745.9 million devices in the country, making it one of the top countries to use ChatGPT the most. Desktop usage for the country to access the platform is around 80.2%, while the rest is by mobile.


  1. India (8.7%)

    ChatGPT’s 8.5% of traffic and roughly half of the USA is from India at about 401.4 million devices. Among the top 5 user countries, India has the highest usage on mobile (30%)


  1. Brazil (5.3%)

    About 243 million devices in Brazil use the platform, with desktops (74%) being the highest use type.


  1. Germany (4.0%)

    At 82%, Germany’s desktop usage is the highest among the top 5 country users for its 186.4 million devices. Germany contributes to 4% of ChatGPT’s total user base.


  1. Japan (2.9%)

    Japan contributes to 2.9% of ChatGPT’s users, with desktop usage of 74% among its 133.5 million users.
