Meta ($2.0 tn)
Meta is, without a doubt, the world’s largest social media company operating platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Threads and others. Inspite of this, NVIDIA’s valuation is more than 2.7 times that of Meta.

OpenAI & Anthropic ($1.8 tn)
OpenAI & Anthropic are leaders in AI and based on their latest rounds are cumulatively valued at $1.8 trillion. While the ChatGPT maker is valued at $852 billion, Claude’s Anthropic’s edges it slightly at $965 billion. While both these companies are growing fast and massive, NVIDIA is 3 times their combined valuation.

JP Morgan Chase ($899 bn)
JP Morgan Chase leads as the world’s most valuable bank and is often regarded to bank entire countries. Interestingly, NVIDIA is worth 6 JP Morgan Chases.

Last year, NVIDIA was the first company ever to touch $4 trillion, and this year is has gone well beyond $5 trillion.

While the importance of AI in the next generation is undoubtable, are these valuation comparisons rational?
